Brow Colouring
Brow tinting is a fabulous way to enhance your natural brows, giving them a fuller and more defined look without the daily hassle of makeup. If you're thinking about hopping on the brow tinting train, here's how to prepare for the best results!
Once you've booked your appointment, let your brows grow out a bit. This might be a tad annoying, but having more hair gives the tint more to work with, resulting in a richer, more even colour.
In the days leading up to your appointment give your brows a gentle exfoliation with a spoolie, to remove any dead skin cells beneath the brow, and keep them well hydrated. This will help any skin stain adhere better.
On the day of your appointment, make sure your brows are clean and free of any makeup, oils, or creams. This ensures that the tint sticks properly and lasts longer. If you have sensitive skin, it's a good idea to ask for a patch test a couple of days before your appointment to rule out any allergic reactions. Following your brow service avoid any strong skin care or exfoliating the brows to get the stain to last longer, and use a quality brow oil to extend the colour.
And lastly, relax! Trust the process and get ready to flaunt those beautifully tinted brows with confidence.
Brow Waxing
You must discontinue the use of retinol at least a week prior to your waxing. If you are on any prescribed skin medication for aging or acne please discuss with your doctor first and ask how long it will be before you can resume waxing. Some acne skin cares need to be discontinued a year before waxing.
Just avoiding brows is not enough as these products travel under the skin.
These creams/medications thin the skin and cause the wax to pull some layers of the skin off. This is not only painful but can lead to scabbing and scarring.
Brow Lamination
Brow lamination is all the rage these days, giving you those swoon-worthy, perfectly groomed eyebrows without the daily hassle. But like any beauty treatment, it requires a bit of TLC to keep those brows looking fabulous. Here’s your guide to prepping and caring for your laminated brows, so you can flaunt them with confidence!
First things first, prep is key. Before you head to your brow appointment, avoid using any retinoids or exfoliants around your brow area for at least 48 hours. These products can make your skin more sensitive and might affect the lamination process. Make sure your eyebrows are clean and free of makeup. It's also a good idea to communicate any skin sensitivities to your brow technician, so they can tailor the treatment to suit your needs.
After your brows are laminated, the first 24 hours are crucial. Treat your brows with extra care by keeping them dry and avoiding any steam or sweat-inducing activities. This means no hot showers, saunas, or intense workouts. Once the initial period is over, you can resume your usual routine but with a few tweaks. Use a nourishing brow serum or oil to keep your brows hydrated and looking shiny. And remember, avoid harsh skincare products around your brows to maintain the lamination’s longevity. With these simple steps, your brows will stay on fleek and ready to wow!
Brow Tattooing
Getting ready for a brow tattooing appointment can be both exciting and a little nerve-wracking, but with the right preparation, you can walk into that studio feeling confident and ready for your new look. Here’s a friendly guide to help you through the process.
Once you’ve booked your appointment, avoid any brow grooming like plucking, waxing, or threading for at least a week before your session. This gives your artist a full canvas to work with, ensuring the best possible outcome.
In the days leading up to your appointment, focus on self-care. Avoid alcohol and caffeine 24 hours before your session, as these can thin your blood and increase sensitivity. Hydrate well and get a good night's sleep to make sure you’re feeling your best. On the day of your appointment, steer clear of heavy makeup and skincare products around your brows. Wear comfy clothes and maybe bring some headphones and your favourite playlist to help you relax during the procedure.
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure those brows stay fabulous.
First things first, resist the urge to touch your brows right after the procedure. Your skin needs time to heal, so keep your hands off to avoid introducing bacteria that could cause infections. Gently blot your brows with a tissue to remove any lymph that comes through as this will turn into a thicker scab.
Until your brows scab wash them twice a day with an antibacterial gentle cleanser, by gently dabbing at them, blotting dry with a tissue. Apply a thin layer of the provided aftercare ointment, with clean fingers, to help keep the area moisturized and promote healing. These steps will help to reduce scabbing but do not pick at the scabs, as this will pull the colour out.
Lastly, steer clear of heavy sweating or intense exercise for at least a week. Your new brows are sensitive to salt, and sweat can interfere with the healing process. Also, avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds for a few weeks to prevent fading. Once you are healed avoid strong skin care retinols and acids as this will also fade them. By following these aftercare tips, you’ll ensure your new brows heal beautifully and maintain their stunning shape and colour.
Book in a touch up session in between 6 and 8 weeks, if you want one. If this is done after 2 months you will need to book in a colourboost session.
Remember, preparation and aftercare are key to ensuring a smooth and successful brow tattooing experience. Follow these steps, and you’ll be well on your way to rocking those fabulous new brows with confidence!
